General Itinerary

May 13 ~ Day 1: Katmandu ~ Thamel

Group will arrive at Kathmandu airport (TIA) we will meet them at airport and transfer to hotel in Thamel, evening have welcome dinner when the whole group is together. Breakfast and dinner included Overnight at Thamel

May 14 ~ Day 2: Hindu temples, Durbar square, Pashupatinath (cremation ghat) ~ Thamel

Visit Pashupatinath temple, Cremation Ghat at bank of Bagmati River, Visit Kathmandu Durbar square and back to Thamel. You will have the oprtion to walk for 30 minutes back from Basantaput to Thamel and enjoy the street life. Breakfast included

May 15 ~ Day 3: Boudanath Stupa and Nearby Monasteries

Today is Vaisakha (Baishak, Vesak or Wesak), the celebration of the birth, enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha and it happens to be the Full moon. The day is of celebration and deep and intimate connection with the Buddha. We will spend much of the day at Boudanath and surrounding monasteries. It is quite easy to get dissolved into the festivities of the day that culminate with a candlelight ceremony around the stupa. Breakfast included

May 16 ~ Day 4: Kopan monastery

Today we will visit the Kopan monastery, Kopan is one of the most important Tibetan monasteries in Nepal. If we are lucky and we had generated enough merit we can have an audience with Lama Zopa, a wonderful teacher that by being in his presence one is able to purify much karma. So, keep your fingers attached to your mala and generate positive merit.

May 17 ~ Day 5: Pharping, Dakshinkali temple, Phamting Vajrayogini temple, Asura Yanglesho (Guru Rinpoche cave), Sheshnaryan temple.

Today will be a day full of surprises as we explore temples and be able to spend time meditating at Guru Rinpoche’s cave. Imagine sitting and receive the shower of blessings that he left behind in the cave.

In the rock cave of Yangleshö you can accomplish the practice of Yangdak, essence of Great Bliss.
By means of Vajrakilaya (a wrathful spirit protector) you liberate all obstacles and obstructers, and in this sacred place you attain the siddhi of mahamudra.

This location is widely considered the most profound of all sites connected with the activity of Guru Rinpoché. Here, he spent much time in retreat and he attained what is the ultimate fruition of Mahamudra, the Great Seal. Breakfast included

May 18 ~ Day 6: Namobuddha monastery

Visit Namobuddha Monastery, visit Kailashnath Mahadev statue on the way, afternoon take a flight to Pokhara from Kathmandu. Breakfast included Overnight at Pokhara

May 19 ~ Day 7: Annapurna Range

 

Today we drive to Sarangkot for sunrise, after breakfast at Pokhara hotel we drive to Sarangkot then Kaskikot – Naudanda Hiking which is approx 3/4 hours on an easy trail.

Naudanda hiking is an easy and short-day hike in Pokhara. It offers an excellent opportunity to discover rural village life and enjoy the fantastic mountain views of the Annapurna range including Annapurna, Fishtail/Machhapuchchhre) and Dhaulagiri as well as Phewa lakes and the entire Pokhara valley.

May 20 ~ Day 8: Pokhara

Today visit Statue of lord Shiva Pumdikot, world peace Pagoda, Devi’s fall, Tibetan refugee’s camp, Jangchub Choeling Monastery, and Gupteswor Mahadev cave.

May 21 ~ Day 9: Pokhara

Today we will visit Tal Barahi temple, Bindabasini temple, Pokhara old Bazaar, Seti river gorge, (option to visit Gorkha memorial and Annapurna butterfly museum on the way) and Visit the International Mountain Museum.

May 22 ~ Day 10: Pokhara

Today we will go to Matepani Gumba, Jangchub Choeling Monastery Chamere cave, Mahendra Cave.

You will have the option of a little adventure, you will be able at your own expense choose from, zip lining, a hot air balloon ride, an ultra-light mountain flight, bungee jumping or paragliding.

May 23 ~ Day 11: Back to Kathmandu

Today we drive back to Katmandu, with a couple of options but for this the whole group must agree. Option one, is to visit Manakamana Temple or spend three hours rafting in the Trisuli river. Sounds like fun!!

May 24 ~ Day 12: Visit Monkey temple, Patan Durbar square, Boudhanath ~ Evening Farewell Dinner

Today is the last day of the main trip, knowing that you will have ample time to shop, if you have not already do it.

Departure should be after breakfast.

May 25th to June 2nd will be dedicated to the children’s project.

Details: Due to the high altitude of the visits, it is important to be in good health to make this trip
