| Why
are we doing this?
Despite
its long history of clinical testing, Kangen water (and the machines)
has been increasingly popular only in recent years, thanks to the
recent media publicity since the
discovery made by Dr. Shirahata.
Since then, hundreds of hospitals all across Japan
started experimenting with the Kangen Water (and many cases, Super
Acidic Water as well) as a part of their medical practices for all
kinds of cases and diseases.
Coupled with its impeccable track record of this
water treatment, it has been getting a huge attention from the public
in Japan, fueled by series of documentary programs as well as countless
numbers of testimonials from former patients appearing in many books
and some even in talk shows.
As far as its market penetration goes, it is said
to be anywhere between 1% to 3% across Japan, on a household installation
basis, as of 2004. However, the overall acknowledgement of this
water and its benefits among the general public is much higher,
and most likely will only grow.
While it seems that this water is reaching the tipping
point, there are also some issues that are preventing it.
• Cost: As you might have guessed, these machines
are not exactly cheap. Decent one starts around $2000 (USD) and
some of the best ones top around $6000 (USD). And we are only talking
about the home use models, NOT those bigger, more powerful industrial
models the hospitals are using. So even with the unbelievable track
record of recovering from all kinds of illness and diseases, most
people can't afford this until they face life-threatning situations.
• Political Battle: This is an easy guess
as well. Doctors and the pharmaceutical industry want to protect
their own interests. The Japanese government wants to slow down
the hype and decides that the Kangen water industry cannot advertise
or speak publically of its merits, using "cure" language,
until the scinece of this water is 100% proven. Hmmm, this sounds
familiar, doesn't it?
• Confusion: While the Japanese government
bans medical claims on a grander scale, they have also admitted
to certain health benefits of Kangen Water, and just upgraded certain
models' status from being a health appliance to a medical device
recently. This contradiction and the resemblance with the cheaper
but the lesser grade alternative, Ionized Alkaline Water, are causing
the general public enough confusion.
If you put this in a global perspective, it gets
even trickier. This water technology is practically non-existent
outside Japan. What this means is that there is very little information
available in English to us, not to mention the actual products we
can buy here in the States. Even worse, there are some people who
are trying to sell cheaper Ionized Alkaline Water machines as if
they were at the same or a similar level as with the Kangen Water
machines, only cheaper. (Sigh) Cheaper for what? Something that's
been officially declared to have no medical benefits by doctors
and scientists?
So we figured somebody has to put this act together.
This water technology is just too good to be missed, or to be fooled
around!
Focus
of this Site
Spreading the word about this water technology and
provide as much information and documentation to back up the claim
are the main focus of this site.
And since we can't "claim" any medical
merits in the future tense, according to FDA, we can only show you
how effective it was with many different cases in the past as personal
testimonials.
That being said, while we will have to rely (most
likely, heavily) on the translation of the Japanese materials to
English initially, we'd like to start collecting the actual testimonials,
primarily but definitely not limited to, from people in the U.S.
as well.
Also, we'd like to provide what's available for
us to buy in the US as well as some cautious notes for those who
are considering to purchase one.
We strongly feel that this water unit should be
installed in each and every home to protect ourselves from our ever
increasingly toxic and unhealthy environment.
Our mission here, as a grassroots industry newsletter,
is to help the industry achieve that tall goal one day, for the
sake of the common human interests.
That'll be our goal as well. |
